Swan Lake Tickets – The Royal Ballet, Royal Opera House
Swan Lake tickets are for The Royal Ballet’s spring run of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in Liam Scarlett’s production after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. Prince Siegfried falls in love with Odette, a princess turned into a swan by the sorcerer Von Rothbart, and is deceived by her dark double Odile.
Swan Lake is the most requested ballet of the year, and weekend and bank-holiday dates go first. Booking for this production has not yet opened to the general public, so TicketsToSee quotes for top-category seats in the Orchestra Stalls, Stalls Circle and Donald Gordon Grand Tier on request, date by date. Call our Private Client Team on +44 (0)203 070 3997.

Swan Lake, the Ballet
The story
At his coming-of-age celebration Prince Siegfried is told he must choose a bride. By a moonlit lake he meets Odette, queen of the swans, who can be freed only by a vow of true love. At the ball Von Rothbart presents his daughter Odile, disguised as Odette, and Siegfried’s broken vow seals the lovers’ fate.
The music
Tchaikovsky’s 1877 score is the best-known in ballet, from the swans’ theme and the Dance of the Little Swans to the 32 fouettés of the Black Swan pas de deux.
The production
Liam Scarlett’s staging, with designs by John Macfarlane, was first seen at Covent Garden in 2018 and keeps Ivanov’s lakeside acts at its heart.
Swan Lake Running Time and Age Guidance
The performance lasts approximately 3 hours, including two intervals.
Best Seats for Swan Lake
We source seats in the top categories: the Orchestra Stalls for closeness to the stage, the Stalls Circle for a slightly raised view, and the Donald Gordon Grand Tier for a complete picture of the stage with balanced sound. The Grand Tier and Stalls Circle show the lakeside formations of the corps de ballet at their best.
Your Visit to the Royal Opera House
The Royal Opera House is on Bow Street, London WC2E 9DD; Covent Garden Underground station is the nearest, with Leicester Square and Holborn a short walk away. There is no dress code: smart-casual is fine, though many people dress up for an evening at Covent Garden. Latecomers may be held until a suitable break.

Swan Lake, a Short History
Swan Lake was first staged at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1877, but the version that conquered the world was Petipa and Ivanov’s revival at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg in 1895.
