Reserved Seats in the Top Three Price Categories

This option is a reserved seat in the Stalls, the Foyer Circle or the Circle — Glyndebourne’s three highest price categories, and the three tiers the house itself prices above all others. The seat is reserved and allocated, not general admission, and it is held in your name from the moment the booking is confirmed.

Positions within these three categories are treated as interchangeable in value: the acoustic and the sightline are consistently strong across all three, which is why they sit together at the top of the pricing structure rather than in a strict hierarchy. Specific seat numbers are not published in advance, in line with how premium inventory is handled across this market. What is fixed is the category, the performance and the price — the three things the decision actually turns on.

What This Opera Ticket Covers

The ticket covers one reserved seat for the complete performance of Verdi’s La traviata at Glyndebourne, in a revival of Tom Cairns’s Festival 2014 production. Riccardo Frizza conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Louise Alder and Elisa Verzier share the role of Violetta Valéry; Amitai Pati and Julien Dran share Alfredo Germont; and Ricardo José Rivera and Audun Iversen share Giorgio Germont. The opera is sung in Italian with English surtitles throughout, so anyone who does not speak the language can follow the libretto without difficulty.

Glyndebourne is an unusually small house for a work of this scale, and that is the point of buying into the top categories rather than the back of the auditorium. La traviata is carried in close exchanges — Violetta and Alfredo, then Violetta and his father — and those exchanges land differently when the singers are near. The ticket covers the performance itself. It does not include dining, transport, parking, programmes or accommodation, none of which TicketsToSee supplies or administers.

Who These Seats Suit

This suits the buyer marking something. An anniversary, a significant birthday, a long-promised evening for someone who knows the score well enough to hum the Brindisi before the orchestra starts — a Glyndebourne evening is bought as an occasion rather than as a night out.

It also suits the returning Glyndebourne attender who knows the house, knows which categories are worth having, and would rather have the position confirmed now than take what survives the public booking window. That buyer needs no explanation of the festival; they need the seat.

The third group is the private client who wants the arrangement handled directly and quietly — one conversation, a confirmed category, a confirmed price, and delivery settled in the same call. For a corporate host, the long dining interval makes Glyndebourne a stronger setting than a conventional theatre evening, though a Festival evening is bought personally at least as often as it is bought to entertain.

Ticket Delivery and Access

Tickets for this performance are delivered digitally, as a PDF sent to your email address, 7 to 10 days before the date of attendance. That is the delivery method for this option, and it is the only one confirmed for it.

Booking confirmation arrives by email at the point of purchase, and the tickets themselves follow within that window. Present the PDF, printed or on your phone, at the gate. Because delivery lands in the week or so beforehand rather than immediately, there is nothing to chase in the intervening period; if anything about the booking changes in that time, the Private Client Team contacts you directly on +44 (0)203 070 3997, the same number to call with any question about your order.

Practical Considerations at Glyndebourne

Glyndebourne sits at Glyndebourne, New Rd, Lewes BN8 5UU, in the East Sussex countryside outside Lewes — a country house with its own opera house, gardens and lake. Lewes is reachable by train from London in a little over an hour, with a short taxi or shuttle for the final stretch; drivers should allow for rural roads on the approach.

Formal or smart dress is customary at Glyndebourne, and most guests treat it as part of the occasion rather than an imposition. A Glyndebourne evening also runs longer than a standard night at the opera, built around two intervals, the longer of which is designed for dining. Restaurant tables and picnic arrangements are made directly with Glyndebourne, well in advance, and are entirely separate from a ticket booking. Gates and gardens open in the early afternoon ahead of the evening curtain; we confirm exact gate, curtain and interval times with your booking.

TicketsToSee — Trust and Reassurance

TicketsToSee has sourced hard-to-get tickets for over 22 years, trading as an independent broker for buyers who want a specific date and a specific category rather than whatever the public window has left.

For this booking, that means a dedicated concierge service rather than a queue: access to sold-out and exclusive events, authenticity guaranteed, guaranteed delivery ahead of the performance, secure checkout, and transparent pricing with no hidden fees. The price on this page is the seat price; V.A.T. and any delivery charges are calculated and shown at checkout rather than appearing later.

The Private Client Team on +44 (0)203 070 3997 handles bookings directly for anyone who would rather confirm by phone, and remains the contact point after purchase — the same team, not a general enquiry line.

Entity and Compliance Notes

TicketsToSee is an independent ticket agent. It is not Glyndebourne, not Glyndebourne Festival Opera, not the box office and not the promoter, and it holds no affiliation, endorsement or partnership with any of them or with this production of La traviata. Glyndebourne’s own box office remains the first place to try.

References to La traviata, Glyndebourne, Giuseppe Verdi, Tom Cairns, Riccardo Frizza, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the named cast are descriptive, used to identify the performance being booked, and carry no claim of association. Specific seat numbers are kept private, consistent with how premium and hard-to-obtain inventory is listed. Aorta UK Limited, trading as TicketsToSee, is registered at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF, company number 05060962.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly am I buying on this page?

One reserved seat for this performance, in the Stalls, the Foyer Circle or the Circle. The category is confirmed at booking; the specific seat number is not published in advance. Positions across these three categories are consistently valued.

How much are these tickets?

£545 per person. That is the seat price; V.A.T. and any delivery charge are shown at checkout.

How and when do the tickets arrive?

Digitally, as a PDF emailed to you 7 to 10 days before the date of attendance. Your booking confirmation arrives immediately at purchase.

Is La traviata sung in English?

No. It is sung in Italian, with English surtitles throughout, so the story is easy to follow without Italian.

Can I book a single seat?

Yes. Single bookings and larger parties are arranged through the Private Client Team on +44 (0)203 070 3997, so they can confirm seating together before anything is agreed.

Is dining included with the ticket?

No. Glyndebourne arranges restaurant tables and picnics directly, and you should book well ahead of the date.

Why book through TicketsToSee rather than the box office?

Because the festival’s booking periods open in tiers and the strongest categories move early. Where the box office no longer holds this date in these categories, TicketsToSee sources it. The box office is always worth trying first.

Notice to Buyers

Tickets To See supplies tickets through the secondary market when primary sellers cannot meet your availability, seating or timing requirements. These terms are mandatory and no exceptions are made.

Check the official box office first. Try the official box office, the primary ticket agent, before ordering with us. Where tickets are unavailable, off-sale, hard to acquire, or the box office cannot offer your preferred category, our team is well prepared to assist.

Pricing above face value. Prices are in pounds sterling, exclusive of tax, market-based, and most sit above the original face value. Pricing reflects face value, scarcity, premium seating, availability once public sale has closed, and our VIP concierge service. Prices are set by promoters and resellers, change without notice, and are final only once payment is accepted. VAT and delivery are shown in full at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, quotes are per person and assume purchase in pairs; odd numbers and larger groups may be priced differently. Face value for this event is £ To be advised.

How your contract is formed. A contract is formed when you confirm requirements by telephone, secure online order, email or order form and we accept, subject to availability. The sales invoice or email order confirmation is our acceptance and your proof of contract. Website terms must be actively accepted by ticking the agreement box before purchase. Orders placed outside business hours are processed the next working day. All calls and emails are recorded.

Allocation on a fungibility basis. All tickets and packages are sold on a general location basis. Exact seat, row, table or suite numbers are not disclosed before purchase and are confirmed on receipt. You are promised the area, block, tier or category shown on the listing, and we are confident you will be more than happy with the allocation. Seated tickets are grouped in a minimum of pairs; groups of four or more may be split across rows, so tell us before ordering if you need a consecutive line. General admission is entry to the standing area or zone described, with no specific position reserved. Hospitality and VIP packages are the lounge, box, suite or restaurant category described, with table and seat allocation made by the venue or provider, shared packages seated with other guests, and inclusions and timings set by the provider.

Delivery methods and timings. Tickets may be paper, electronic PDF or mobile transfer via the official app. Promoters often withhold tickets until close to the event; expect delivery around four days beforehand. Contact us immediately if tickets have not arrived in that window. We do not operate at weekends, so for Saturday or Sunday events contact us during the preceding week. Check the email address used at checkout, and check spam and junk folders. We cannot always know in advance whether tickets are physical or electronic, so a postage charge applies to all orders; if you receive e-tickets having paid for delivery, notify us for a refund of that charge. Check tickets carefully on receipt, as errors cannot be rectified later.

Advance guest information. Where an event or hospitality package requires guest details, it is the Client’s responsibility to submit the full name, email address and mobile number for every attendee no later than 72 hours (three days) before the event date. Details received after the deadline may not be processed in time, and no refund is available where admission is affected as a result.

The rules of buying. Clients gain access to otherwise unobtainable tickets in return for discretion. Non-compliance may invalidate your tickets with no refund. Make no reference to Tickets To See at the venue or event. Never contact the venue, box office or promoter directly, as no other party holds a record of your order. Do not forward our emails or let anyone else use your account. Do not allow a third party to collect your tickets, and do not pass tickets on. Follow our collection instructions and those on the PDF ticket exactly. Remain courteous with box office and venue staff. Do not resell, advertise or use tickets for competitions without our prior written agreement. On event day, contact us only, by phone or email; bypassing this protocol may void the contract and cancel your order without refund.

Named tickets and venue entry. Tickets may display the original purchaser’s or supplier’s name. This is irrelevant to admission, as the barcode governs entry. By purchasing hard-to-obtain tickets you accept that your name may not appear on them. You will not be required to present ID at the event, and we do not supply tickets for events requiring ID, unless stated otherwise on the listing. Carry a printout or screen grab of your PDF tickets, and have personal ID available for venue security. Denied-entry claims are considered only on production of written evidence from the venue together with the original unused tickets; to date, no claim has been supported by such evidence.

Cancellations, changes and insurance. Clients may not cancel. All confirmed orders are final and non-refundable, so confirm your availability before ordering. You are solely responsible for your own event insurance covering every reason for non-attendance, including postponement, cancellation, illness, travel disruption or personal circumstance, in place from the moment the order is placed. Paying by credit card creates no right to cancel or to depart from these terms. Dates and times may change, and we may transfer tickets to an alternative date or time where incidents beyond our control require it; no refunds are given for date or time changes, so make flexible travel arrangements. Refunds cannot be guaranteed for events cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, such as inclement weather or force majeure. The Law Reform (Frustrated Contracts) Act 1943, section 1(2), does not apply to our agreements.

Company status and legal terms. We are an independent secondary ticket agent, not affiliated with any box office, promoter, venue or event organiser. All trademarks, event names and trade names are used descriptively.
