Elektra Tickets

Elektra Tickets – The Royal Opera, Royal Opera House

Elektra tickets are for Richard Strauss’s overwhelming one-act opera in Christof Loy’s production for The Royal Opera at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, conducted by Semyon Bychkov. Elektra lives only to see her mother Klytämnestra punished for the murder of her father Agamemnon, and waits for her brother Orest to return.

Elektra is one of the great orchestral experiences in opera, and its short run sells quickly. Booking for this production has not yet opened to the general public, so TicketsToSee quotes for top-category seats in the Orchestra Stalls, Stalls Circle and Donald Gordon Grand Tier on request, date by date. Call our Private Client Team on +44 (0)203 070 3997.

Strauss’s Elektra, the Opera

The story

In the palace of Mycenae, Elektra mourns her father and taunts her mother, while her sister Chrysothemis longs for an ordinary life. When Orest returns in disguise he kills Klytämnestra and her lover Aegisth, and Elektra dances herself to death in triumph.

The music

Strauss’s 1909 score, to Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s libretto after Sophocles, calls for one of the largest orchestras in opera and plays without a break.

Elektra Running Time and Age Guidance

The performance lasts approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, with no interval.

Best Seats for Elektra

We source seats in the top categories: the Orchestra Stalls for closeness to the stage, the Stalls Circle for a slightly raised view, and the Donald Gordon Grand Tier for a complete picture of the stage with balanced sound. With no interval, arrive early and settle in before the doors close.
