Ticket Delivery Guide
Ticket Delivery | How You Receive Your Event Tickets
Tickets for major sporting and cultural events can be issued in several formats, depending on the event organiser, venue technology, and ticketing system used.
TicketsToSee sources tickets from established suppliers and official channels. The delivery method used will depend on how the event organiser issues tickets. After your order is confirmed, you’ll get instructions on how to access your tickets on event day.
Below are the most common ticket delivery methods.
Physical Paper Tickets
Physical tickets are now relatively rare but are still occasionally issued for certain events.
When physical tickets are used, they are normally dispatched by a secure courier shortly before the event, once the organiser releases them.
Delivery is typically made using Royal Mail Special Delivery, which provides:
• insured delivery
• tracking
• guaranteed next-day service
• signature required on receipt
The delivery address used will normally be the billing address provided during checkout. If you need to arrange delivery to a different address, please confirm this before tickets are dispatched.
Physical tickets should be kept safe and brought with you to the venue on the day of the event.
Email PDF Tickets
Some events issue tickets as PDF files sent by email.
In this case, you will receive an email containing the ticket file once the organiser releases the tickets.
You can either:
• print the ticket and bring the printed copy to the event
or
• present the PDF on your smartphone screen at the venue entrance
Each PDF ticket contains a unique barcode or QR code that will be scanned upon entry to the venue.
To access your ticket easily, download it to your phone in advance.
Smartphone App Tickets
Many major events now use mobile ticketing apps issued by the official ticket provider or venue.
For these events, tickets are delivered digitally and accessed through a smartphone application.
Typical process:
-
You will receive an email invitation or transfer notification
-
Download the relevant event ticketing app from the Apple App Store or Google Play
-
Create an account using the email address used for your ticket order
-
Accept the ticket transfer or open the ticket within the app
Your ticket will then appear inside the application and can be scanned directly from your phone when entering the venue.
Mobile ticketing apps commonly used by venues may include official ticketing platforms used by event organisers.
Full instructions will always be provided once tickets are released.
Smartphone Wallet Tickets (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet)
Some tickets can be added directly to a smartphone wallet such as Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
In this case, you will receive a link or a file that allows you to add the ticket to your phone.
Typical process:
-
Open the ticket link on your smartphone
-
Tap Add to Apple Wallet or Add to Google Wallet
-
The ticket will be saved in your wallet app
-
Open the wallet when you arrive at the venue
The barcode or QR code stored in the wallet will be scanned at the entrance gate.
Wallet tickets allow quick access without opening emails or separate applications.
Lead Booker or Host Collection
For some hospitality packages or group bookings, tickets may be issued to a lead booker or event host.
In this situation:
• Tickets may be distributed by the host on arrival
• Access credentials may be provided at a hospitality check-in desk
• Digital tickets may be transferred shortly before the event
Full details of the meeting point or host contact instructions will be provided in advance.
When Are Tickets Delivered
Event organisers often release tickets close to the event date. This means tickets are sometimes issued a few days before the event.
This timing is controlled by the event organiser and not by TicketsToSee.
Once tickets are released by the organiser, they are immediately transferred or dispatched to customers with full access instructions.
