For the perfect Christmas treat, come and watch your favourite tennis players compete at the BlackRock Masters Tennis in the awe-inspiring and iconic venue of the Royal Albert Hall this December.
Players including McEnroe, Ivanisevic and Cash will be fighting it out to become Champion of Champions. Once again, Tim Henman will take part in a special charity exhibition match on Tuesday 4 December during the evening session.
Come and watch your favourite tennis players compete at the BlackRock Masters Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall from Tuesday 4 - Sunday 9 December. Watch as players including McEnroe, Ivanisevic and Cash battle it out to become Champion of Champions in the strongly contested singles event or enjoy the compelling doubles contest with wonderful displays from crowd favourites such as Mansour Bahrami and Henri Leconte, as well as a host of other legends of the game.
Once again, Tim Henman will take part in a special charity exhibition match on the evening of Tuesday 4 December. This end-of-year tournament is the season finale to the ATP Delta Tour of Champions, a year-long Tour that makes its way across Europe and the world and pits past tennis champions against each other in order to earn ranking points (see Qualification below).
In order to play in a Champions Tour event, the player must no longer be active on the ATP Tour and have either been: • Ranked Number 1 in the World • A Singles Finalist in a Grand Slam Championship • A Singles Player on a winning Davis Cup Team The Masters Tennis is now firmly established as the UK’s most popular indoor tournament – it is televised on the BBC and draws crowds of more than 30,000 over the course of the event.
QUALIFICATION Masters Tennis
The top 10 players on the Stanford Financial Champions Tour Rankings at the end of the tournament preceding The Masters Tennis will qualify automatically for London, with 2 wildcards making up a field of 12. Players must compete in a minimum of 2 Champions Tour events in order to be eligible for qualification.Two sessions a day with play commencing at 1.00pm and 7.30pm. he Honda Challenge was upgraded in 2004 to The Masters Tennis presented by Cunard at the Royal Albert Hall and has become the season finale of the Delta Tour of Champions. This exceptionally high class competitive singles tournament will once again be interspersed with entertaining doubles and exhibition matches. Doors open approximately 45 minutes before scheduled start of play. Sessions will last approximately 4 hours.
